1. Research into energy saving homes (part I)

In the Voorhof district in Delft there is a group of about 170 comparable homes from 1965. These uniform, modern homes at the time provide an excellent opportunity to assess the effectiveness of energy-saving measures for this type of housing. By comparing the energy efficiency of these homes, the impact of energy efficiency improvements that some of the residents have already made can be quantified. This knowledge can then serve as inspiration and motivation to stimulate/facilitate similar improvements in the other homes.

Implementing similar efficient energy-saving measures will have a positive impact on energy costs, but also contribute to a better environment.

Figuur: Energie efficiëntie (2022)

The energy efficiency is calculated from gas and electricity consumption and a weather correction determines in which class the house falls. If the heating and living behaviour in the other years is similar (the same number of residents and no energy measures have been taken), then the Energy efficiency value will be almost the same every year. On the other hand, if the owner has taken an energy-saving measure, the effect on energy efficiency in the following year is visible.

2. Research into energy saving in homes (part II)

Part II is a step-by-step plan to make a corner house from the year 1965 with a poor energy efficiency of 129 kWh/m2 more sustainable into an energy-efficient house with a desired energy efficiency < 35 kWh/m2. With the energy efficiency of 129 kWh/m2, the house is in the "Average" class. This is bad, which is why the energy consumption must be reduced by about 94 kWh/m2 in order to belong to the desired "Paris Proof" class. This means that much less gas will have to be used and that mainly electrical energy will be used, which will preferably also be generated by the company.

3. Energieadvies Bed & Breakfast

An energy advice has been drawn up for a B&B. It has been agreed with the B&B owner that his data will not be shared with others. The information in the report that can be shared can be found here.
