Energy suppliers charge return costs for solar panels
May 27, 2024
More and more energy suppliers in the Netherlands require customers with solar panels to pay for returning power to the grid. These costs, known as feed-in costs, vary depending on the amount of power returned and the specific terms and conditions of the supplier. Some suppliers charge a fixed amount per day depending on the amount returned, while others include this amount in the fixed monthly fixed fee.
Reason for return delivery costs:
More and more solar energy is being generated, which increases costs for energy suppliers.
To distribute the costs more fairly, they are now specifically passed on to customers with solar panels.
Return costs per supplier for a consumption of 3000 kWh per year
The differences are large and the costs can therefore increase considerably on an annual basis. The lower the amount of returned power, the more favourable it is financially for the user.
